Hardee's Saturday Night Cruise-in Chester, VA



Beginning March 17th starting at 1:00-5:00 pm and then April thru October, Every Saturday Night at Hardee's located at 1901 W. Hundred Rd. (Rt. 10 & I-95 Exit 61-A) Sponsored by Southern Knights Cruisers, Inc. thru October from 5:00 PM until? Everyone is welcomed to cruise in for Good Food, Good Music, Good Friends, Beautiful Classic Cars. Join us, "DJ Wolf Man John" " Rock-It Man", and "Wild Man" for the best music in town for good family entertainment. Also check for photos of all the vehicles attending the event.

July - Special Cruise-In - We invite all auto hobbyists to cruise up and join us in celebrating “Collector Car Appreciation Day.” The date marks the second commemoration in what will become an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. SEMA or SAN is currently in the process of securing a Congressional Resolution recognizing this year's celebration. With your help we are sure to make the second celebration an even bigger success than last year! Get out, drive and show them off! The event extends through July the 8th & 10th... Have Fun!! To help collector car enthusiasts celebrate, the SEMA Action Network (SAN) is compiling a list of events happening around the country. We join SEMA in asking all auto enthusiast to get out and show their strength as to the need for Aftermarket Equipment.

"Biggest Car Show Roundup in Virginia"

The 13th Annual MDA Car Show will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Richard Bland College in Petersburg, VA 23805. The show is sponsored by The Southern Knights Cruisers, Inc Car Club, who will partner with Books-A-Million and Strosnider Chevrolet of Hopewell again for 2011.

This open show attracts the highest quality show cars from Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. You don't want to miss this year’s show, where over 300 show cars, trucks, and bikes are expected to attend! No matter whether you like Antiques, Classics, Muscle Cars, Street Rods, Customs, Compacts, Off Road Trucks, Custom trucks, Antique Military Trucks, Antique Fire Trucks, Antique Police Cars, Race Cars, Bikes, the Mayberry Police Cruiser, or the Munster Mobile, they will all be there. Again this year there will be a Special Children's Judging presented by Dyeco Insurance Services, Inc. of Midlothian. Children between the ages of 8-14 will judge several vehicles for Special Awards in Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Paint, Best Horn Sound, and Best Detailed. The 15 Kids selected will receive a special T-shirt, hat, or other items identifying them as a Judge. Great Fun for the Kids! Parents are required to be in attendance. Children and vehicle owners wishing to take part in this event should contact Karen Dye of Dyeco Insurance Services at 804-675-4300 to sign up.

There will be lots of vendors and the first 200 participants will receive an event dash plaque. The event will include a live auction, pre-registered drawing, Grand Prize Drawing, and a raffle drawing. Because of our sponsors, all money from the event will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association here in Virginia. Ricky Williams, President of the Southern Knights Cruisers, says the event has raised over $260,900, since the shows beginning. This year’s show will include an opening ceremony, with a special performance by the Colonial Heights American Legion Post 284 Color Guard and "Back" by popular demand! "Elvis" will be joining us! Because of the many beautiful vehicles attending in the past, a number of additional awards have been added this year. All total, there will be more than 120 total awards will be given out at this years show. Because of increased interest each year, this show continues to grow. Hope you watched us release the money to MDA during the WRIC Channel 8 MDA Telethon on Sunday, September 4, around 6:15 PM. The Telethon only aired from 6-Midnight this past year.

We certainly want to thank all our sponsors that joined with us in 2011. Without all of you we couldn't do it. All the money will go for MD research and patient's care in Central Virginia. Special recognition goes to our partners: Strosnider Chevrolet of Hopewell and Books A Million.

We want to thank Dr. James McNeer, president of Richard Bland College for hosting the event again this year. The college grounds are beautiful and perfect for the event. If you hadn't really taken a look at this beautiful college and what they have to offer our kids, you might want to do it. They now have new dorms and more are planned.

Again this year the show will include Top 25 in four classes: Early thru 1954, 1955-1972, 1973-1992, and 1993-present vehicles. Awards totalling over 120 going to antique, classics, customs, muscle cars, Tuners, race cars, street rods, 4x4 custom trucks, imports, emergency vehicle, and bikes. Lots of Specialty awards! McGruff will be talked to all the kids and there will be face painting for kids. Vendors will include: Custom Pin Stripping, Custom Auto Parts, Custom Bikes, license plates, auto cleaning and protection supplies, custom T-shirts, auto glass repair, custom sign boards, jewelry, desiger candy, yard care, crafts, items for women's world, and landscaping equipment.
